Greetings All,

How much thought have you put into how you use categories on your blog? I want to share a link to a great little piece on the subject. Chris has some power user advice on how to make the categories list on your blog stop overwhelming your visitors and start working to get them what they are looking for. The added bonus of SEO improvement sure doesn't hurt either!

One other question, how do I get my pretty face, or the image of my choice, to show up in here?

i've always had trouble with this and it has to do with how theme authors write their code. best practice is to go to the appearance>editor, and find the #sidebar info.

this is found in the stylesheet. from the dashboard, go to appearance>editor. the stylesheet is the first thing that comes up. look for #header, where you'll find the setup for fonts.

depends on where you want it. ideally, you probably want it on the bottom of your posts. in wordpress, go to appearance>editor from the dashboard, then choose single post from the menu on the right side.

in wordpress, that info is found in header.php. go to appearance, editor. the first thing that pops up is the style sheet. on the right, choose header.php. look for the code that inserts "blogtitle'
you may need to do some tweaking of the header stuff in the style sheet too, depending on how the theme writer set it up.

I prefer feedburner, although there are plenty of other. And some of cms, like wordpress, create a basic one automatically -- that's how, in most feed readers, you only have to input the url, and the reader will go find the feed.

but i prefer feedburner because of the extras, and because i can keep track of a lot of feeds on on place.

Let me just say...

I love my Mac Book Pro. And one of the things I love the most is the backlit keyboard but sometimes I wish I had better control of the brightness. If you have this issue too...

viola!

Get Lab Tick.

Set the brightness how you like it! It's free but you can leave the creator a tip and I so think it's worth it.

Hey y'all,

Have you checked out Twibes yet? I just set up a Twibe for our online magazine A world of Progress TeamZine and over the next few weeks I will be playing with it and doing some research on how people are using it to get their messages out. If you are using Twibes now tell us what you think about it.

Twibe is not really a part of Twitter but rather an application that can access your Twitter account and allow you to create a Twitter group. Before you create an account at Twibes , I would suggest you start with the help section where you can find screen casts that explain in easy to understand terms how to use Twibes.

Twitter is now offering a way for you to create a custom list of people you want to follow. Set up your favorite Tweeters in groupings that make sense to you. Head on over to Listorious and check out the top 140 twitter lists on all kinds of subjects and create your own lists.

I have been using for about a week now and I love it.

Yes... that is what I was logging in to say as well. I am loving the economy of effort thing. Plugins that do it for you with very little to no investment up front and then it runs itself. Now that is a win/win.

You can always let your blogs do your Tweeting for you -- or Facebook. There are plugins that tweet your blog posts, and apps for Facebook that tweet your posts there. No extra writing.

That is my question. It's all I can do to keep up with my tiny little blog(s) and other writing I do, plus FB, family and of course, work. I keep thinking I should climb on the Twitter bus, but then I'd really be spread thin. Would I get anything written at all then?

Many of you, like us, have noticed some pretty big changes at FaceBook over the past week. Those of you who use FaceBook as a way to communicate with your customers via your business page have by now noticed that they are "carved out" and not coming through the status updates automatically, the way they used to. At least reports are numerous that not all of them are anyway. We are having similar issues with our Mad Women Media page.

A lot of folks are none too happy with that and a number of changes and Mad Women Media will be bringing you the latest on what if anything changes as a result of the resounding backlash FaceBook is "Facing" over these changes.

Please read this fine article from CNN. It has some great info you may need to know.
